I've been reinstalling my screen and trying different configurations, and I have it working pretty well overall. The thing that helped the image quality the most was putting black fabric between the screen and the net. However, I'm starting to get a bunch of pieces of black fuzz all over my floor after only a few hundred balls hit. The fabric was very thin so I doubled it, but it clearly isn't going to be a long term solution. So...
I took a chance and bought 6 yards by 122" of black heavyweight Spandex. Once it comes in I'll replace the black fabric and see if it does a good job on image quality, durability, and sound dampening. I'll post my thoughts once I get it all together and test it for a while.
