  • Frame Depth and Ceiling Mounting

    Hello Everyone,

I am finalizing the design of my impact screen frame, but have a few questions that I'm hoping the community can help me out with:

    1) My frame will only be 8" deep as I don't want to be closer to the screen than 8ft when hitting. Will 8" be a problem with regard to structural integrity? I plan to mount the top rear cross-bar to the ceiling to add additional support.

    2) I can't seem to find a good method for hanging the frame from the ceiling, in a way that will allow me to pull the bottom of the frame up to the ceiling as well. My end goal is to hang the frame above the cars when we want to park in the garage.

I attached a crude picture of what my design looks like. The only things not in the picture are the curtain tracks that I'm going to install on the ceiling that run at an angle away from the screen. I will then hang 10'x 10' impact nets to catch shanks and such, but can ultimately be pulled back when not in use.

If anyone has any feedback, I would really appreciate it.

    Thanks,

    Sully

    Hello,

I did almost the same, except one more pole on the buttom back because i was afraid of the stability of the whole thing. I think its important with all the stuff we hang on the enclosure ^^
I have 20 centimeter deep too and add an attach from the top back to the ceiling to secure the all enclosure.
