  • Foldable sides...please see drawing.

Click image for larger version Name:	encl22.jpg Views:	1 Size:	52.9 KB ID:	162428 I am looking to add a golf simulator to my garage. It will be 13" wide and fit in between some built in shelves. My goal is to have folding doors (sides) so I can still park cars, play ping pong, or do whatever I need with the space from time to time.

I can't find anyone on here that has done this. I have searched and searched. Here is my thought. I am going to build the typical EMT enclosure but have a T at the top to allow the pipe to go 8" longer on one side and 6" longer on the other. (Both say 8" in drawing, one should be 6"). The goal is to have the doors fold into each other but overlap. This will also protect the screen when the simulator is not being used.

    1. Do you guys remember seeing anyone that has a build like that I could used ideas from?

Here is a link to the fitting (swivel) I would use for the door frame to open/close. I would need 4 or them, top and bottom on each side. https://www.grainger.com/product/4NX...180813223002:s

    2. Do you think this swivel would work? Better suggestions?

Please see the very basic drawing to get a better idea of what I am thinking. (top down view).

Thanks for looking and adding any input, it is greatly appreciated!

Maybe just put some fabric on tracks. Many sim companies do this.

Yes, I may just do this and not worry about the "doors". Just wanted something to protect the screen when not in use. Going to look at tracks. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

I'm building a garage sim as well that will be able to retract. I am using a sportscreen and plan to use industrial curtain track for my top and side netting so when it's not used the screen rolls up and away and is protected and the side/top netting can be pushed back to the wall

Thank you for the suggestion. I am going with a 13" wide screen...not sure if that can be rolled up? I will take a look. Thank you for the comment, it is appreciated.

my screen I ordered is 13' as well. the sportscreen can be up to 16 feet wide. When I am done I'll post a picture in here if I remember. I have my impact screen, and the sportscreen is scheduled for delivery Friday. Curtains will go in afterwards as I measure exactly what I want but I will try to remember to post here for you

This is my third post in this section about how I built my garage simulator. Unfortunately Photobucket have changed their “third party hosting’ rules, and want

That is one heck of a build, and one heck of a write up! Thank you for putting all that effort to help those of us trying to figure this out! :-)

That curtain track looks nice. You mentioned you received it from Florida, but do you know the company and model number by chance?

Thanks again for the reply, it is appreciated.

Thanks! I figured out some new stuff on my second attempt and thought ‘I wish someone had told me this before’ - so figured it might save some others the bother!!

I bought all my stuff from Par2Pro, and the drape tracks shipped from Florida. Sadly I have no makes or models. Par2Pro sold the drapes as ‘premium’ and also do a cheaper version too.

for my garage sim, i am planning either hooks and carabiners or curtain track for the side netting/ shank protection

Thank you for the input, it is appreciated. I think I am starting to lean towards curtain track...I still want to find a way to protect the screen. I might have the top netting/curtain drop down in front. Good luck with your build!
Working...
