  • Mesh Tarp

Has anyone used a mesh tarp for ceiling protection? Does it work well. How much space between the net and the ceiling is preferred?

works well for me. I built a wood frame and stretched it around the frame. I have it on hinges on the garage ceiling. I lower it down to the top of the impact screen when hitting real balls and raise it out of the way when done. Otherwise it would be in the way of my garage door.

Actually how far away from ceiling did you mount it so it protects.

Thanks for the pic. I also have an apex roof so that gives me an idea.

            Also -
What are you using around the screen?
How have you attached the screen across the top? (Have you built a box frame?)

Ukwill That was an old pic, I now use black indoor outdoor carpet that is cut to size. I built a metal frame in the shape of an upside down u. The screen is attached to the top and sides with e z klip tarp clips and adjustable ball bungees. I wrapped velco around the poles and then the backside of the indoor outdoor carpet stick to those on the sides.

Appreciate the info! If you hit the carpet full on, would it not rebound excessively? I’ve put in an angle iron on each side wall but need to do something across the top (still looking for ideas). I need to hide the sides and top, but don’t want any bad hits to bounce back much?

There is no bounce back from the carpet, if you hit a pole then yes, the potential is there for a ricochet. I haven't come close yet and i've hit some pretty bad shanks.
