Buy Impact Screen Fabric Directly from Mill 2

Kmurray. See post 34 above Par2pro answered this already. They never got a response from the seller of the direct mill screen. Their current screen product is custom made for them and not the direct from mill screen. They cannot sell same if they don't know what it is or how to get it. They are a very reputable vendor and I don't see a reason to doubt them

We never got a chance to test out db's material, not for lack of trying to order (you can see our posts from before to him).

That being said, I can assure you that the SQ material is not the same as we have the SQ material made for us by our specs. We have priced the material accordingly as it is definitely not cheap to have material custom made.

Thanks for the reply, I am not doubting them, I know they have a good reputation. I have no reason to think that they do not know who the mill is that the direct from the mill fabric came from ...they are in that business and likely know every mill that can produce those types of fabric. My question was more based towards if they were prepared to take up the baton and provide a lower cost option where they have ready made buyers waiting to buy a product at a reasonable cost which is what they indicated when they posted on the original thread. I am not sure how many screens they sell on a daily basis but I doubt that it is anywhere close to the number of people that have indicated that they would buy on this thread. I also know that many retailers in other businesses would love to have access to a list of customers that are absolutely ready to buy ,it is a win win for everyone if common sense is applied.

As I said, I am a man of my word, if db would tell me where he got his material from, I would be happy to test that material and if it was good, sell it to customers on the forum at as low of a price as possible to cover our costs and produce a slight profit to ensure that we could support it.

Par2pro. Thanks for the response and clearing that up. Forum members will appreciate that openness. If it is not the same fabric then I don't see any grounds for a conflict of interest preventing enthusiasts doing their own thing. No one has any real right to influence suppliers to not sell freely to whoever they choose, it's not fair on the supplier or would be purchasers.

Most people will understand that it would not be fair to move in on a custom made fabric, but it seems in this instance that the stuff forum members are trying to source is not your fabric.

I wonder where the conflict of interest came from?

Lets hope dbgolf shows up to help move this forward.

I was defending PAr2pro as they are not only a reputable vendor (not me personally but there are many posts here commending them by those who bought from them), but also an invaluable information provider to us sim enthusiasts. Have u seen the videos they provide here on the new products at the PGA shows, wow, fantastic. Also all I saw in this thread was pure rumor/speculation about some conspiracy by them to gouge people. Very unfair to any business unless u can back it up. They were being libeled without evidence. By the way they starting selling their current SQ screen 10 months before they inquired of DBgolf about direct mill screen.

Agree with your comments above.
However it does not change the fact that a screen retailer has obviously influenced the manufacturer of whatever fabric was being ordered by this group to cancel the order.
None of the screen retailers that sell to this market have the right to do that, they have no divine right to control this specific market. That is unfair on the actual manufacturer and purchaser.
Note that none of the retailers that we know frequent this forum and gained knowledge of this order being placed, have come forward and confirmed or denied their involvement in complaining to the mill and having the order cancelled.
Any company wishing to preserve a hard earned reputation would not bite the hand the market hand that feeds it, the sensible thing to do if you want to compete with a particular product is source your product then enter the market with your competitively priced product and survive on your own merit.
I don't know which retailer it was and am casting no aspersions, If I did know I certainly would never buy from them as I don't believe in supporting people in business that employ tactics like that to try to control a market that very definitely does not belong to them in any shape or form.
