  • Any UK readers? Where did you get your screen?

I've finally bitten the bullet and ordered my GC2. I'm just waiting for the last few components for my Sim PC to arrive, and I've already got my projector and my hitting turf.
There is one key component missing... The impact screen!

The UK simulation market seems to be somewhat non existent, and I'm struggling to find suppliers of projection impact screens.

I've got a quote so far for a net type screen, and I've been sent a sample of the material. Although it looks pretty good, I think I'd rather try and get an impact screen rather than a closely knitted white net - which will give me a better quality projected image.

If anyone has managed to get one of these in the UK, can you please advise where from? The quote for the net screen is pretty reasonable, so I may end up taking it for the time being if I can't get something better!

Go with Protee screen. Swingsense.com. Tell them the size you want.

I didn't realise ProTee were based in Holland. That's good news as I'll be able to have it shipped without having to pay customs duties etc.
I wonder if I should buy the net type screen since the price includes side curtains etc, and then hang the ProTee screen in front? That would save me having to worry about putting a net behind it. The net type screen with curtains costs less than the ProTee screen!

Your setup sounds exactly like the one I am hoping to setup in my garage here in the UK (only on stage 1, clearing out the garage at the moment). Having started to research, I completely agree about the lack of resources for home simulators here in the UK, so I would be really interested to hear more about your setup, how you sourced the parts and how it is working now, assuming you are 'live' with it?

I went ahead and bought the net style screen for the time being, and will upgrade to a ProTee screen at a later date. I want to make sure I'm going to use it plenty before I spend any more money!
When my screen / curtain assembly arrived, the screen was too long - and drags along the floor. I've had it up for the last 3 weeks, but finally took it down last night to send it all back to be altered. I'm having a few alterations to my curtains too whilst it's away. Up until now I've only been playing Par3 courses on TGC so that I'm hitting the hop half of the screen - and not too hard!

I'm away on a work trip on Sunday for a week, and am hoping it will be back from alteration when I return.
Once I get it all re-hung and setup I'll post some pics of what I've done - and where I got the bits and bobs from.

Hi only just seen this so sorry it's a bit late. I was thinking about using scaffold debris netting for the sides and behind the impact screen. It's very cheap. What does anyone else think about it. I would assume it will work fine as it stops bricks!!!
