  • fix/patch an old screen?

I bought a simulator package 2 years ago and the screen (10' x 14') was part of the package.

Each winter season (4 months) has seen holes worn in each side of the screen

This is not used commercially but does seem like I have more friends in the winter

All of the damage is near the center and other than that screen is in good shape so it seems wasteful just to throw out the screen.

I can only think of 3 solutions and only 2 that are somewhat cost effective
    1. buy a 2'-4' strip (or wider?) of screen material and have it sewn over the worn area
    2. but raw material and completely cover old screen using the existing grommets and treating it like a backer
    3. bite the bullet and completely replace with a new screen
Not sure if these are my only options and I would appreciate any and all suggestions or experiences as well as what screen material to use and where to purchase

One possibility is to hang a 2-4' strip of spare material top to bottom behind the worn area. It would catch balls that make it through at least. I do this with my screens from the time I put them up. Helps to reinforce the hitting area without any great expense.
