New impact screen material coming in. Double spacer material

This is Chip from Spectrum Golf/golfsimulatorsite. We have been selling golf screen material for the last 10 years. We sell a supertex ( great HD image ) and a more durable poly blend. There has been alot of talk on a newer spacer material that has a cushion feel to it. I wanted to shed some light on this material. One, its hard to get this material made in 120 inch widths. Most overseas manufacturers will only do a 60 inch width. To run 120 inch, you need to commit to an extremely large run of material. with overseas manufacturers, you really dont know what you are getting until it arrives. So, there is a huge risk involved. Two, Defect rate, when you run this material there is a machine that hold 100's if not 1000's of threads to make a 120 in wide material. When one of these threads break when the machine is running, it creates a defect or run in the material. it might be an inch long or could be several inches long. It could be on the end or in the middle. With overseas goods, the defect rate is higher. That means when we get it, we might need to cut out a section in order to remove the defect. We have to add that cost into the price of the screen. Three, tariffs, thanks to our leader, tafiffs are being added to these goods. anywhere from 10-25%. With all that being said, the GOOD NEWS is we have been able to get a smaller test order of this new spacer material in 300cm width ( 118 inches ). We do not have exact costs as of yet, but will keep you posted . Its going to be in that 40-50 per yd range for unfinished goods. Projected dates are middle to end of august.
