  • New PVC Frame - with a one piece canvas/screen combo for better safety

    Hi all,

Some of you may recall I like to experiment with enclosure designs (my curved one from last year for e.g.) - now it is time for another new design which I think could really make the job of putting up a simulator a LOT easier. This is my video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yy5tqSMh_nA of the new design using PVC pipes (40mm with 18mm walls for extra rigidity) and a few connectors. This set up requires only 6 x 6m lenghts cut into custom sizes of course and then a screen goes onto the pipes via channels at the ends for maximum tension.

As you can also see there is no cross beam in middle (where the screen top and bottoms are) so that if you skinny one down the ground or wedge one up, it's not hitting it with force and coming back for your life!

As always I welcome thoughts and feedback! I will give away all measurements (which are customisable to fit your space) and if someone wants to buy the material from me I will ship it from my factory in China direct. My plan is never to sell another enclosure, just screens!

    Hello Igor,

Nice work ! I am myself working on a piece that could make things a lot easier to build and get a safe simulator. But I still keep 2 parts with screen AND enclosure apart. I find it is more easy to custom both part.

Have two thoughts after your video :

    1) Are you not afraid by shank on the middle bar (the one which hold the screen, on the right side for right handed for exemple ?)
    2) This full package means that you need to change everything when the screen need to be change ?

Good to see new idea and improvement ! Wish you the best

Great points here - I am less afraid of the right and left from my experience over last 9 years and the myriad of shanks I've seen (I have seen a ball hit backwards even!) - I find those are less likely to cause damage than the straight back at ya ones from frontal cross beams. but Ideally I would have no surfaces but haven't figured out that and still keep tension.

      2. Yes but the cost of the black material is a fraction of the screen so it's may be 15% of total cost - not huge. Durability in domestic use is around 2-3 years.

40mm with 18 rated wall (they come in 3 wall sizes, 18 is the largest)

I can confirm this is the goods! just recieved my package from Igor-247-golf now sorting through the PVC to setup. the material used on the sides and top is a high grade quality, the stitching is good and has good weight to it. the impact screen is night and day better than what i am using. i have the impact screen from spectrum golf and it is not even in the same league as this.
it is a 2 person job though, and unless you have 10ft long arms, you will need 2 people to help line the piping up.
