In the end i used 2x4's to build the frame for my screen and now Im really concerned about bounce back from the top. I have tried attaching what i had to hand which was acoustic foam tiles but it barely reduces the bounce back and even from just throwing the ball in tests it comes all the way straight back to me when it hits square on. How do you guys reduce this? My screen height is 8.5' at the top and im hitting from 10ft away (although this can be changed still).
One other thing im thinking is hanging material (probably black velvet) in loops just in front of the screen with the bottom of the first loop being close to the screen and just slightly below the wood level. That way even if it does hit the wood/foam then it would then bounce into the material. Unfortunately my ceilings are very high so this means a lot of material. I was going to carry on with the loops getting progressively smaller to 2m from the screen. Would this work and is there a cheaper, easier alternative?
