Image quality comparison of Carl's Standard vs Preferred

I have looked, but haven't found any comparisons of the Carl's standard fabric versus the preferred. I am not worried about sound. Does anyone have any side by side comparisons? Or any other suggested vendor in that price range?

I had preferred and premium. Preferred had a great image but you need to hang something behind it to cut down on the bleed through. It was great. No idea on standard. Premium thicker quieter and less bleed through.

Hey Wiz, if you were going to buy a new screen would you go with Preferred or Premium? In my size screen probably a couple hundred bucks difference, $280 vs. $525. I'm not going through the couch cushions for change but I"m not lavishly wealthy either. Extra $240 worth it in your opinion? Does the Premium screen have better durability do you think?
      Thanks for any info BTW!

I would go with premium. With that said I bought a back up from dbgolf72 straight from the mill. The dbgolf screen appears to be comparable to the Carl's premium. I haven't used it cause my carls premium is still working great.
I would try dbgolf screen and save $. If not then I would do carls premium. I really like my carls premium and it was finished with grommets.

If Carl’s premium is better than “direct from the mill”....it’s worth every $ you’d pay, because the direct is pretty dang good. I sunk the difference into a new wedge (or 2 )

I bought a preferred screen from Carl's and was a bit disappointed in the "dents" each shot would make. I figured there would be some, and maybe my expectations were too high, but it seemed every shot would leave a long lasting impression.

So then I bought a screen from dbgolf72 straight from the mill - it is thicker, higher quality and leaves virtually no "dents". If this screen is comparable to Carl's premium, I would say it's definitely worth the upgrade.

I forgot to tell you I needed 14ft wide from dbgolf but bought 18ft wide. That way if it starts to wear I don't have to buy a new screen, I can just shift the screen so i'm impacting a new location. This way it should last a very long time. Gives me 4ft of movement.

"I forgot to tell you I needed 14ft wide from dbgolf but bought 18ft wide. "

If I went 14 feet long I'd have to cut through the wall into the dining room. I don't think domestic bliss would ensue.....

I'm looking pretty hard at the DBgolf option.... and thanks again for sharing your wisdom oh great and powerful one!
