  • Best 14' x 9' screen for under $350 without waiting for Mill?!? Lol

Please help. I've finally narrowed down my projector and would like to order a screen tomorrow (Tuesday too). 😁 I saw Par2Pro has 'imperfect' screens at my gamble that could work, on eBay someone called golfsimulators has a supertex screen, then somewhere else I saw "pro-screen". Ugh I hope to keep it about 6" from the wall and have a decent contrast. Thanks in advance and all good advisors are invited over for a round or 2 if you're ever in central Pa. πŸ‘

The best screen at that size for $350 is hands down dbgolf. Not what you wanted to hear?

Thanks Mr. Wizard. I'm on my way to check it/them out. I would have to agree that you ARE a Super Member on here.

Under screens straight from the mill dbgolf. What's the truck comment? Not following?

Ok and thank you again. I thought you were being sarcastic bc I couldn't find it on Google. Lol Glad to hear you weren't and I will see if I can figure that out. πŸ‘

SuperTex screen is not a good choice. It’s really a textured tarp, IMO. Loud, not very flexible, and lots of ball β€œclimbing”. I had the NetReturn version, and it was one of the reasons I ditched that set up and built EMT.

The direct mill screen was night and day. Worth the wait, although frustrating.

The Par2Pro SQ imperfect is a good way to go. For $100, you won’t be able to beat that price. If they have the size you want, get it. Worst case is it’ll serve as an extra backstop.
I bought one and it had a really small area that’s not pristine but it’s near the far side and I have it facing the wall. Honestly you can’t tell that it’s not a perfect SQ screen.
Keep in mind for raw, you’ll want to hem/finish at least 3 of the edges.
Can post a pic if needed.

You don't need to finish any edge on the raw. You can use tarp clips, works just fine.

wbond... Aha!! I sent you a message yesterday asking how the tarp clips are holding up after a couple years. I think I have my answer, still doing well after prolonged use? My (admittedly cheapo) screen is knocking on heaven's door... looking at dbgolf, hope he hasn't grown tired of dealing with all the people lining up for the direct from mill.

                    Cheers, buntaro

Yes, have been using the clips for years with no issue. If dbgolf doesn't have any more material, par2pro just listed some SQ material at beta pricing in a FB forum.

Thank all of you guys. I ended up going with a Par2pro 'imperfect raw' SQ material. They encouraged me that 'most of the time it's jiust a small snag, dirty mark on just one side...etc. High hopes here as always. I will report back and thank you all...for your time.

Thanks to this post. I also bought some of their imperfect raw sq... I figure this will be good enough for me for a while. I don't know how long it will take for the Mill raw to be available, so this is a nice alternative.

I just bought some raw stuff too, the guy running the mill group buy has been awol for 2 weeks. This actually worked out better and cheaper, assuming its not a piece of trash and all messed up.

Keep an eye out for Carl’s clearance too. Just got my 10x13 finished for much cheaper with marks only on the backside of the screen.
