  • How many people are using Carl's Standard Impact screen?

The price is very tempting... Anyone with real world use on this? How does it wear and how is the picture? I did some searching but it doesn't seem to pop up much in my search results, outside of a lot of people using the Carl's Preferred.

I've used it for the past 2 years. Got a remnant/imperfect screen finished for a very good price. I use my simulator a few times a month so it has not had heavy usage. It does not show much wear at all but I do have a net and foam mattress topper behind which takes most of the force of the impact. The image is usable but I also do not have a 1080p projector. You will notice the texture of the screen in the picture and it likely would be more noticeable with a high def projector but for the price it is great. If I was going to use a 1080p or 4k projector then I'd try to get one of the screens from the mill offered in the Enclosure and Screen section of the forum. Hope this is helpful!

I had one that lasted about a year with Heavy use. I now have the Par2pro SQ Raw which is much better picture and about 2 years of use and no holes.
you get what you pay for. cheaper quality screen will wear out quicker with heavy use. but if you just need a screen that's cheap, the carls is fine for playing on, you just won't be wowed IMO

I just got a Carls standard about a month ago and I'm very happy with picture quality and sound.

Thanks for the replies all. I have a remnant piece of the P2P SQ Raw right now and I love the way the picture looks on it but its not large enough to cover my entire projection area, so I was trying to determine if I should wait until I could get the direct from Mill or to get the Carl's Preferred. I'll give it another month before I make a decision. I still need to purchase TGC2019
