Pole barn space. Prefab or diy.

Thank you everyone for all the great info on the site. I currently have a skytrak, laptop, freestanding hitting net, and a fiberbuilt hitting mat. I have a space in my pole building I think would fit a better enclosure and allow me to upgrade to a projector.

If you look at the photo you can see the dimensions of the space.

I could fit a Carl's diy 10x10x10 enclosure, or a spectrum golf 10x10x10 enclosure, and get a floor enclosure for the projector, but I felt with everyone's knowledge I might be able to build something nicer while saving money.

What do you think?

I thought of doing the sides with osb and sticking dark carpet tiles to them to prevent miss hit ball damage. Maybe there is a better and cheaper way of covering the side walls.

The ViewSonic PS501X should fill the screen area at 6ft. If I mount to the ceiling I will save on the floor projector shield.

With a 10x10 net is it fairly taught? I would only have 6 inches on either side if I miss hit. Would that be enough space so it doesn't hit the metal wall?

The Carl's golf enclosure looks like a rather tight setup where it wouldn't stretch much if a ball hit the wall.

Ya. It’s pretty tight. I haven’t paid too close attention but if I hit into the back net without the impact screen the ball will roll back out to me. Hitting 10’ away. I’m not sure what the give is though.

@Misterkeef This space seems like a super-strong candidate for DIY -- especially for a man who owns a pole barn! Get the impact screen directly from mill (from @dbgolf72), attach to some slotted angle iron, and you're in business. Put your netting behind the screen. Unless you shank a lot there's no need for carpet-covered OSB on the sides. How about some knotty pine T&G? Gorgeous.

I live in a small town, and the only other person I know who has a golf simulator has just gifted me a 10x12 hitting screen. He has had a simulator for almost a decade and this was the original screen that came with his system. He replaced it because it was too loud. I'll post a picture after I pick it up tomorrow and see if you guys can identify it.

This is from a decade old full swing golf setup with grommets and Velcro.

There's two of them so I'll see which is in the best condition or if there is any difference between them.

How did this projector work out for you? I have a need for a relatively inexpensive protector with horizontal keystone correction and this one looks like it could fit the bill.
