  • How to Attach Impact Screen to Floor

So how do you guys attach a screen that has grommets to the floor for a taught look? Ive seen several people recommend draping the screen at the bottom. It would seem that the grommets would show if I were to drape the screen. Any ideas on how to do attached my screen? Thanks!

Here's a post I created that is on the 3rd page of the screens and enclosures page. I would use 8" at the bottom vs. 4" if I had it to do over again.

So here's what I came up with. I bought a $5 grommet kit from harbor freight, cut some small pieces of

DejaVu what do you mean you would use 8" at the bottom vs the 4" you used? Are you referring to how much you let hang at the bottom? I am looking to clean up the bottom of my screen as well.

That's right TheDon07 where the screen meets the floor, I would probably have 12" of screen laying flat and coming towards me. I have about 4" laying flat now that is covered with about 12" deep actual astro Turf.

Under the astro Turf, I used small bungee and pop riveted rings in it to keep it flush to the astro turf. Unfortunately, after a lot of "worm burners" the bungees and screen ripped around the rings...because there wasn't enough room for flex.

If you go with 1' of screen under 14" of astro turf (or carpeting) and use carpet nails along the front edge of the astro/carpet (furthest away from the screen) the carpet will lift up near the screen at impact and the bungees will pull the screen back under as the astro/carpet resets.

It's a beautiful thing to watch and stays clean looking. I can't guarantee that it won't also tear near the rings, but it took 1000's of shots before mine started to tear.

Good luck and pm me some pics if you have any other ?s and send some pics of what you end up with.

Why attach it? I got a taunt look by filling flexible tubing with sand and using zip-ties to attach the tubing to the grommets. Why drill into the floor when you don't have to. I will take a picture if you want to show you how it looks.

Do you have a raised floor in this setup using the weighted pole? Pic?

If you could send a picture, that would be awesome.

I zip tied a chain link fence top pole to the grommets in the bottom of my screen. It allows the bottom of the screen to move back a couple inches at impact, but always come back to rest against my stance platform.
