Help with SIY Screen Frame

Folks, I now have a plan after a solid week of research. I will be installing in the basement rec room space 15/5 feet x 20 feet long. Screen to be placed along the 15.5 foot wall. In the swing area there is ample ceiling height, however on the right hand side (as you face the screen) there is a bulkhead which cannot be moved at 91 inches from the current flooring (carpeted with underlay). As such, and in order to maximise screen height (and thinking slightly larger is better) I am looking at a 96' x 166" screen from Carls Place. There is one size smaller as well at 91 x 159 - which might actually be better.

Specific question is how best to mount to the roof while keeping the finished edge as close to the ceiling as possible. Thoughts? Am I missing something critical?

How far from the wall is your curtain? Does it stop the ball from hitting the wall? It looks very close and wasn’t sure the curtain could be that close and still prevent the ball from hitting the wall.

I attached the top of the screen directly to the top pipe using 3m dual lock with adhesive. stuck dual lock to screen and dual lock to pipe. The side tension does most of the work holding the screen up.

Thanks Trev - helpful. Do you feel this increases bounce-back or does the side bungees do the work?

Jeff50316 - seen - thanks. Are those bungees at the top or some sort of zip tie? Same question regarding bounce-back if they are not bungees.

The bounce back has been perfect for me. I don’t hit many at top of screen so maybe that is the reason, but ball rolls to about 7 feet every time. I barely have to move to get ball and hit again. Put moving blankets behind screen that reduces bounce back a few feet but the moving blankets are disintegrating with the hits.

with my set up I actually have an unfinished screen that I wrapped around the pipe and connect the ends together with bungee cords, but it should be no different than your set up

Nice! How did you make those gray pads at the top of the screen?

Pads are 1/4 plywood topped with memory foam covered in grey duck cloth.
