Enclosure Design

Planning on building an enclosure and am going 16’ wide. Came across an enclosure design with a middle support bar (shown below). My initial thought was how would that design work with the bar being directly in the hitting zone. Does it prevent the impact screen from doing its job? Create more balls coming back at you?

Should I go for the two vertical supports more towards the edges of the impact screen?
