Carl's impact premium screen backing

I purchased the 16x9 Premium Screen from Carl's. I have read mixed reviews about bounce back on these screens, so I have purchased the following. I have purchased a 2 inch queen memory foam topper and a 10x20 golf impact netting. I was going to place the topper inside the netting and hang it against concrete basement wall. I am planning on leaving about 3 inches from the back of the screen to the netting/memory foam. Would appreciate any opinion on this set-up being effective to prevent any bounce back. Thank you all!

In my experimentation, bounce back largely depended on how tight you have the screen. That said, I too have the premium now (started with preferred) and it doesn't bounce back nearly as much as the preferred, since it's got multiple layers. Usually only a few feet at best, which is nice because you don't have to walk all the way to the screen to get the ball. Sounds like you have a great setup planned and I imagine it would be minimal bounce back. If not, recommend loosening the bottom and then the sides. Good luck.

I have a 15 x 8.5 premium from Carl's and almost no bounce back. I bought the bungees from Carl's and have them on the sides and top. The only spot that bounces back at all is right at the top and I know I could loosen the sides a bit to fix that if I wanted but it's a balance between that and keeping the screen flat with tension.

Thanks for getting back to me, you have convinced me that I don't need anything behind the screen, how many inches did you place screen from the wall?

I have quite a bit of space so I went about 16" from the wall. Im sure less would be ok.

I too am curious about this as well. My Carl’s Pro kit came in, and I upgraded to the premium screen. I hit 10’ back from the screen, and the ball consistently bounces back and then rolls out at least to me. I’m used to using a Net Return, so it’s nice in some ways, however my concern is that it may distract from the immersion factor to always be watching for the bounce back rather than watching the ball flight.

I only used the included ball bungies, no zip ties, so I’m limited in options. I was thinking of trying a shipping blanket, but this memory foam topper sounds interesting as well.
