Mounting impact screen that is larger than the enclosure

Several people have recommended ordering several extra feet of impact screen so you can move it when the impact area stars to wear. For example buying 15' of width of impact screen for a 10' enclosure. Sounds like a great idea.

But how do you attach the extra screen?

1. I'm guessing you use tarp clips on one side and attach as normal. But what about the other side with the excess? I guess you could fold over the excess and attach tarp clips to the folded part, but with the tension on the crease, wouldn't that make a fairly permanent crease? (that would look bad when you rotated the screen)

2. Or I guess you could wrap the extra screen around the EMT pole and tarp clip the edge and attach it all the way back to other side. So (in my example above) about 5' of excess would wrap around the EMT...but where do you attach it?? Do you get 5' of bungies and go all the way to the other side?

3. Or maybe you wrap both sides around the EMT and attach them together in the middle?

Sorry this is confusing to describe...maybe someone has a picture?

You are correct, use tarp clips. Check out Ron and Gunghogolf (I believe that is his name as he has some pics up on his website I believe where he shows people how to hang a screen.

Thanks. Yeah, I have visited Gungho golf. But I only see instructions on how to attach an edge of the screen to the nearby EMT enclosure (as if it fits the enclosure perfectly). My question is for an impact screen that is larger than an enclosure (intentionally larger, as many people have advised, so you can rotate the hitting area). It is not clear how you attach the excess. And where you attach it.

It's option 1. The crease is not permanent. Where the tarp clip was attached takes longer to disappear. the trade off on buying another screen outweighs the mark left behind by the clip.

Hmmm. Ok...I have my enclosure temporarily set up at 10' wide, but eventually will make it 13' wide. I'm trying to decide if I should clip and crease a brand new screen...or find something else to hit into for a couple months until I move up to 13'.

See attached pic, look closely at the right third of the screen, you can see the clip marks, this pic was taken within a few days of changing my setup and going from4:3 to 16:9 wider set up. The crease is gone and the clip marks are there. They have since gone away, not sure how long it took though. This can give you an idea of what it would look like.

Out of curiosity, have you tried removing those marks with a steamer?

Golfser it didn’t bother me enough and they went away on their own over time
