  • Mount projector on an enclosure

I have a 15’w x10’L x 10’h enclosure but need to mount a projector to the ceiling of it. Has anyone had any success modifying the enclosure to enable this as there is nothing to mount to in the area I need it? Any help would be much appreciated!

There was a topic discussing this about two months ago. Also, you could check out Par2pros website as I believe they have something on their site for mounting a projector into an enclosure.

Are you using EMT for the enclosure frame? If so you could get a "T" fitting and put it on the top front bar (in the middle) and have another piece of EMT pointed towards the screen and then mount a piece of wood to the EMT using a 2 hole EMT strap and then fasten the projector mount to the wood.

I have an enclosure on the way and that is my plan (a little different as my enclosure depth isn't as deep).

How deep is your enclosure? Can you explain what you'll modify with the setup?

I'll be using a Carl's DIY 13'x7.7' enclosure. It's 5' deep. On the top front support, where the two lengths of EMT are connected, I'm going to use a "T" connection instead of a coupler connection. Then I'll cut a 22" length of EMT and insert it into the "T" so it points away from the screen. Then I'll mount a piece of 1x8 wood to the 22" piece of EMT and install my projector mount on the wood. That way the projector will be roughly 78" from the screen. Make sense?

Thanks guys! I’ll take a look at those and get back to you with what I find.
