How much clearance from side wall to enclosure?

I'm building an enclosure from EMT pipe. I want to maximize my width. I plan on using netting for the top and sides and cover with cloth. How much clearance is recommended on the sides to the wall?

You don't need much clearance. If you shank one into the side netting, the netting will give an inch or two depending on how tight you make it. But you can pretty much go right up against it. I have maybe 2-3 inches between my net and my side wall and I shank wedges like it's my job and it's never been an issue.

Thank you, I will start with 2". If it's an issue, I can always cut it down a it.
