  • Net bounce back

    Hey all,
10x10ft net that's connected to 1" PVC at the top and bottom. Have the net on a pully system to bring up and down in the garage. Hitting from about 7ft away. Getting severe bounce back on shots. Tried lessening the slack a bit to help trap the ball. But still pretty servere. Any suggestions? The bounce back is straight off the net. So a cushion below wouldn't help in this scenario as it would bounce over.

How do you have the Net connected to the PVC - Are you using bungees or is it secured both top and bottom? It sure sounds like there is too much tension there for sure. What type of Netting? It could also be that unlike a screen that has some natural "give" the netting is acting more like an elastic .....?

I would try disconnecting from the bottom and just letting it hang free from the top. The net should still knock the shot down without springing it back at you.

The netting is connected on the top and bottom with zip ties. In some light anger I went and cut every bottom zip tie and it helped. I thought I had a TON of slack, but it seems I needed more. I appreciate the responses here. Going to get some small bungy cords and connect the net to. Now my issue is the ball going through the net and I have to go chasing the ball.

Not a huge deal. Just lucky to be able to hit in my garage!
