I have 112 to work with in height is it possible to make an enclosure to fit a 108 screen? Leaves me 4 inches to work with and the flooring below me would be wood I can screw into if need be

My advice-start with your enclosure and then fit the screen for it especially when your limited in space. Not the other way around. The screwing in part doesn’t make sense. What would you need to screw into your subfloor?

or go without enclosure and hang it directly from ceiling using angle iron or eye hooks. bottom of screen should hang loose. i think if you do some searching on this forum you will have lots of examples of what others have done.

I was thinking of screwing in I hooks to fasten the Screen using sub floor

I can’t go into the ceiling as my garage door rails get in the way what is the thickness bar I could use for the framing and still have structural integrity

Do not screw the screen into the floor. Add some weight to the bottom and let it hang free.

Use 1-inch EMT piping.

What prevents the ball from going throw like does it comes back or does the ball get stuck behind the screen?

The ball hits the screen and falls down. It's not going to hit the screen and go through it. Remember, you're going to have the screen fastened on the sides as well.

Yeah that’s makes no sense to do it that way, imo
just attach it to the frame of your enclosure

I see the Carl’s screen has about a 114 height the 9ft tall ones could I get the raw material and make the border smaller it seems the border is 2.5 inch around then I got to account for the frame eye hooks and anything else I msg have missed

Let the extra length just sit on the floor - will help solve your other question

Just tell them the dimensions of your enclosure, and they should be able to figure out and build a impact screen to fit. I think you’re over thinking it.

The ball hits the screen and falls down. It's not going to hit the screen and go through it. Remember, you're going to have the screen fastened on the sides as well.

Ok I think I get it but those worm burners won’t they go under the screen if it’s not fastened at the bottom

You can have some weight in the bottom of the screen. Some screens have a sleeve sewn in that you can fill with something to weigh it down. That keeps the screen taught while also preventing it from folding under too much upon impact.

Some of the Carl's screens have a sand bag at the bottom. Same concept.

You can also make a little ramp on the floor using a large pool noodle or foam wedge or something that goes under your turf and blocks worm burners and putts.

You can also just have enough screen slack on the floor that there's enough to block it.

You will also likely have something behind the screen like a net or memory foam or blankets or something that will help keep balls out front. And again, the sides will be fastened so the bottom can't move backwards much anyway.
