For you guys that use a sports screen, did you use the middle bar? Seems like a ball can ricochet back at you if you hit it or does the impact screen absorb it?

No flat fiberglass rods are used behind the impact screen.
I did put the metal pipe in the bottom sleeve, then popped on some foam pipe insulation for padding. The added mass works great.
Use a 6" ball bungee to tension the impact screen to each pipe end. Unhook these bungees off the ends every time the screen rolls up. That way you retention them before you play.
Take your time and program the screen to float off the floor (just enough to stick a finger underneath the center) and it will stop a drive with very little screen movement.Last edited by Will; 12-30-2020, 01:28 AM.Uneekor QED / The Golf Club 2019

Any pictures of how you have the ball bungees attached? I have the sportscreen, and metal pipe with foam. I notice when playing, the screen bunches up at the bottom. Looking for how people keep tension on the screen side to side??Originally posted by Will View PostNo flat fiberglass rods are used behind the impact screen.

I didn't like securing it to the floor and this works very well. The images were taken while the screen was halfway down to show how it's looped.2 PhotosUneekor QED / The Golf Club 2019

At the bottom of the black screen is a sleeve. Open the velcroed ends and insert the round metal rods. The rods connect together.
Do not insert the white flat fiberglass rods into the middle sleeve if the sportscreen is behind the white impact screen. You can put the white flat fiberglass rods into the middle of side screens though.

Will - Did your screen come with metal rods that connect? Your comment reads like that. If not, you bought at Home depot or something? Mine only came with the white flat fiberglass rods which i inserted into the sports screen which IS behind my impact screen....? Why do you say to NOT insert it? What I'm missing is what the "middle of side screens" and middle sleeve is? I'm not seeing it..

There is a grommet hole in the white impact screen. A ball bungee was placed through the grommet.( see the 1st picture where the loose bungee hangs down) The loop of the ball bungee is simply pulled down and around the end of the pipe that is in the black sportscreen.
@Triniexr
You may see that I pull the red bungee cable over the top of the velcro end flap.
The downward and sideways pull of the bungee on the screen is enough to gently stretch the impact screen. My screen is very close to the ground and this was the only way that I could imagine pulling it both down and out at the same time. I tried large suction cups and then almost drilled anchors into the concrete for a couple of D-rings. The suction cup plan failed because the impact screen grommet was lower than the attachment point on the suction cup. That introduced a roll or bump to the screen. The same thing was observed while testing floor level d-rings. I knew I had to pull it lower as well, and "under" came to mind.
I unhook them from the ends every time the screen goes up. I don't know if it matters, but felt that something like this should be retensioned periodically and just made it part of normal operating procedures.

I’ve been golfing in my garage for a little over 4 and a half years. In this time I’ve been continually evolving my setup - with this being the third “restart”. I have 2 other build threads kicking about on this site. My V2 build thread can be found here: https://golfsimulatorforum.com/forum/build-your
That’s how I anchor mine. Works well - and the screen always looks tight.
I have the fibreglass rod from the middle in the base, and nothing in the middle - as per the instructions from Par2Pro.

oh......ok
I have a sleeve in the bottom of my impact screen with the metal pole and foam inserted into the sleeve at the bottom of my impact. As i hit the scree almost bunches up on the foam. I think i can make something work with some ball bungees and a grommet kit......
Thanks

Yes, all three sportscreens came with metal tube rods for the bottom sleeve and white flat fiberglass rods for the other sleeve.
The white flat fiberglass rods go in the horizontal seam that is about 4' off the floor. You can see it in both pictures. The white rods don't seem to do much. They may help the screen roll flat by keeping some extra tension in the middle.
The metal rods go on the bottom and really add mass and form to the screens.
All screens should be rolled down until the bottom pipe is about 1/2" off the ground in the center.2 PhotosLast edited by Will; 04-09-2021, 11:50 PM.Uneekor QED / The Golf Club 2019
