    Does Carl's charge tax?

Just looking to confirm this. It appears that tax doesn't show up when I go to checkout, but looking for info from someone who has made purchases through Carl's. Thank you!

It’s possible that it might depend on what state your in. Why not go right to the source and call Carl’s?

I placed an order yesterday and the invoice does not show tax. I am located in Ontario, Canada.

You'll pay the usual HST on the value converted to $Cdn when it crosses the border.

Yes, that is what I’m expecting (but was hoping not to)!

There's always that "one time", but most shippers USPS->CanadaPost, UPS, FedEx, etc will charge you for the tax and potentially a handling/duty/brokerage fee.

My order arrived today (Uneekor QED DIY bundle from Carl's) and yes, I had to pay the tax (almost $1300)...ouch.

I received a message from FedEx stating that my shipment was on hold due to a brokerage issue. I was scheduled to receive the bundle on Friday last week and received the message that Friday afternoon. I had to take care of the brokerage/tax payment prior to FedEx releasing the shipment. Paid for it on Friday and the package arrived today.
i.e. I wasn't informed about the brokerage (tax) payment until the day that I was scheduled to receive the package.

If you don't have a brokerage set up, then you can give FedEx permission to handle the brokerage for you, which is what I did. If you are ordering from Carl's or another US store, then expect to pay the tax (HST) on the value of the purchase.

In Canada also and interested to know about the buying experience cross border (Exchange, duties, taxes, etc...). I sent you a PM with more detail.

I drove down to Carl's today to talk about stuff, look at screens, and checkout the eye xo and cameras. The dude was kool, and took the time to answer all my questions. Looks like I'll be ordering the eye xo, swing optix, and an 11.5 X 8.5 premium screen. As far as tax, i live in Wisconsin (just under 2 hours from Carl's) so I'll probably pay state sales tax. At the time
