I received my 9x9 screen. The screen has two pockets for EMT pipes. Can I mount the screen on top and then not mounting the bottom of the screen to the frame but build the frame high enough so that an unconnected EMT pipe hangs inside the bottom pocket of the screen to produce vertical tension?

Absolutely. I have the exact same screen as you. I filled up an emt pipe with sand to add extra weight to it and sealed off the ends with tape. Then I wrapped it in foam insulation and inserted into the bottom sleeve of the screen. So it's not attached to anything on the bottom. It just hangs free and the weight from the pipe and sand keep the tension pulling downward.

Hi 3on3putt ,
What do you put behind your Supertex screen? Initially I had just a screen and when I hit the balls into the screen, I see small indentations form and they go away slowly. There is very little bounce back (2 ft at most) but I think without any backing the screen would fall apart quickly from the energy of balls. I tried 3" memory foam but the balls compressed the mattress and impact the pegboard backing and bounced back 8 to 12 feet. I have some moving blankets but they are small 7' x 3.5' and I have yet to sew them together to hang behind.
Thanks,

I have probably 5 or 6 blankets, sheets and even a tablecloth hanging behind my screen. All of them are white. I also get the ball indentation throughout a session where the driver hits the screen but it flattens itself back out by the next time I play. Bounce back is very minimal. Most people who use moving blankets say they shred pretty quickly.Originally posted by khalespace View PostHi 3on3putt ,

Thank you. Now that you mention, the moving blanket material doesn't look that strong. I will try blankets.

I went to a thrift store and found some brand new white tablecloths still in the package for just a few bucks. Then I hit up Walmart and got some white sheets and I had an old white couch blanket at home I wasn't using. None of them are real thick, but with several of them stacked together they are. A comforter would also do well to deaden the blow. I don't have any tension on the sheets. They just hang loose from the top and they are right up against the screen. I only hit from just over 7 feet away and the ball doesn't even roll back to my feet.Originally posted by khalespace View PostThank you.
