The sport screen

Ok, changing up the plan for the basement sim. Instead of the angle iron system I’m going to go the retractable screen route. It will work better for accessibility in this room.

My question is this. The room is exactly 10’ wide. From what I see, you need 128” on the sport screen system. Has anyone successfully cut theirs down to size? Is that an option? I’d be looking at taking off nearly a foot in width. Thoughts?

You end up having to put the end caps and the tube sections together yourself and the metal tubes are like a thin aluminum type of metal so you should be able to cut one of them down to whatever length your wanting. The screen that comes with it is a hard plastic mesh type of material so cutting it would not be an issue. I used the whole length of the metal roll but folded the remaining mesh screen over itself instead of cutting it in case I did not like the results so I could return/sell it. But its been almost 2 years and I still have not fixed it. The extra material folded over does cause it to roll up uneven but that is not an issue to me so just left it that way.

You may be able to get a custom width. Who are you buying from? I know Par2Pro does some customizing but I'm not sure if they go smaller than 10'.

I’m looking to install a sports screen and impact screen in my garage. My plan is to attach it directly to a side wall. I assume I need to add some sort of spacer to get about 1-1.5 ft gap to the wall. What have people done in the past go get this spacing?

Also, I’m considering not using screen at all that comes with the sports screen and attaching my impact screen directly to the roller. Has any one ever did this? Does this make a difference at all?

This isn't a great answer to your question, but if the space allows you could consider hanging it from the ceiling. For my sportscreen installation, we secured some 5 by 8 lumber pieces into the ceiling joists, then attached the brackets a foot away from the wall.
