  • Curved impact screen!

I’m in the process of rebuilding my garage simulator. Previously had a SkyTrak with TGC2019 and E6 Connect with a flat 16’x9’ direct from the mill impact screen. Switched to a Mevo+, but everything else will remain the same.

With the new build out, I was considering going with a curved single projector setup using software to compensate for the curvature. I’ll document my progress here.

I searched around a bit and only found one or two previous threads regarding curved screen set ups. If anyone has any feedback or experience, please let me know.

If memory serves me correctly, there is not much discussed on this forum for the curved screen and the one or two threads is accurate (I only recall two and both were in the last six months).

Any updates on curved screen set up? I want to use a flat 9.5’ x 17’ screen in a new space that is only 14’ wide. I want to curve the screen or figure out a way to modify it for the new space. I previously used 4 side grommets, bungee and 1”EMT pipe. Alternatively, I’ll modify the screen to be shorter, if curving it is too cumbersome. Thanks!

There is one guy who has built an amazing curved simulator and finished it very recently. He documented everything including issues he ran into etc. Deffo go check it out if you can find the thread. He used 3 projectors from memory and certain software to get the desired image etc

ended up not going curved 😢

rebuilt at a new house but went with a 15’x8.5’ standard flat impact set up.
