Roll Cage Padding to protect from bounce back on 1" emt pipe?

Anyone use this or have any better ideas? I hear that the foam pipe insulation you can buy from home depot doesn't work well.

I have the foam installation and no issues.

No issues as in it was easy to install and looks nice or no issues as in you’ve hit a direct shot into the emt and the ball didn’t go flying around

Good to hear cause I just bought a bunch for my build and heard it doesn't help a ton with bounce back.

wbond have thinned fairways into the bottom pipe and bounce back was reduced.

Have seen other guys using these for the bottom at least. It won’t help with any side bars but would be good for any bottom bar/gap. FYI- I haven’t tried any as I’m still working on my build, so can’t speak from experience yet.

I just ordered a wedge of the High Resilience Foam because it came in "very soft" and will report back. I plan on wrapping it in some black fabric and attaching it to the top crossbar with adhesive Velcro strips.

I bought some foam noodles last week but they have no give whatsoever and bounce back is terrible.

Cheeselog8 I wondered if the foam noodles/foam pipe insulation wouldn’t be enough and still cause bounce back. The cloth wrapped foam sounds like a good solution.

I did see this rubber type foam pipe insulation as well that you can get from Menards or Lowe’s, but I’m guessing it would be as bad or worse for bounce back.

Foam wrap helps but a direct hit to EMT still comes back hard.

I just got my foam wedge put up and I think it is going to be a great solution!

My main goal here is to make my setup safer after taking a ricochet straight to the face a month ago. A buddy of mine that is not a regular golfer drilled the top bar and came screaming back at me. It made me realize how dangerous this could be even if it's the only time it's happened in the three years I've had my sim.

Anyways I got the High Resilience Foam in "very soft" from foamonline.com and wrapped it in cheap black fabric. Attached the foam wedge to my emt pole using adhesive velcro strips. The foam has a lot of give but is still firm enough to stop a ball from getting to the emt.

I used pipe insulation from Home Depot. After hitting a hundred shots I think the chance of hitting one of these insulated EMT pipe is close to zero as I am 9.5' away from a 9'x9' screen.

I agree odds are close to zero if decent golfers are the only ones using your sim. But if my buddies are over (some regular golfers, some not so much) and everyone is drinking those odds go way up.
