I'm in the planning stages of my build. I'm going to use a 10ft wide sportscreen and mount an impact screen to it. My gut tells me I need something between the impact screen and sportscreen net to protect the impact screen (and maybe reduce bounce back / noise as a bonus). What have sportscreen users added that is thin enough to still be rolled up but gets the jobs done?

Question: doesn't the stealth retractable screen from Par2Pro just have the SQ Screen material in front of the SportScreen? If the material you use for your impact screen is good quality you that should be enough -
I'm planning to buy my sportscreen directly from www.thesportscreen.com and from everything I heard the basic mesh net they use is pretty cheap and won't protect your impact screen a whole lot. So I have the impact screen over the sportscreen material. The sportscreen material is absolute junk. I've blown through mine and its shredded. I'm probably just going to remove it. With that said... I have about 13" between my impact screen and my garage door. Unless I hit a low screamer, it doesnt touch the door.Comment

Is your impact screen holding up with no protection behind it? -
It seems pretty good. Over 1 year of a lot of use and its looking good... Obviously my high spin wedge shots are definitely wearing it a bit, but as for full driver shots, it looks basically brand new in those areas... (Also keep your balls and clubs clean, as dirty or roughed up balls will reduce life)

I am hoping my approach will suffice. I am going to put a sawdust mesh and then a mulsin fabric on top of the sports screen. I'm currently waiting for the sawdust mesh to come in.Comment
