Hi, I'm interested to know how much hanging a net in front of an impact screen affects picture quality ? I'm concerned about upsetting neighbors with too much noise as my sim will be in the garden.

Ive seen one person do this - they had the net infront of the impact screen but probably only half way up from the ground. He said it caught pretty much any shots from driver to 6 iron. Then short irons, wedges etc could directly hit the impact screen as they weren't that noisy.
Im not sure what impact it had on the projected image. But if noise is an issue its deffo worth exploring.
The thread was on this forum a while back but might take bit of searching to dig it out

Thank you for that. Any clues as to whether an archery net provides a decent image from a projector ? Sorry about all the questions but it's a lot of money to fork out for all of this, dont want to find I've wasted my funds on something that doesn't really work very well so trying to get all the answers in place before I proceed.

Thanks Dax but I think I'm going another route as any kind of impact screen or archery netting would just be too loud for the neighbours !
I'm now going to just use a standard golf driving net then hook the sim up to a large touchscreen monitor instead. Not the full driving bay and sim I'd hoped for but the best I can do . If I had a massive garage or outbuilding to use it would be perfect but you have to work with what you've got I suppose !

I'm looking for ways to reduce noise. (basement setup ... my wife can hear it from the first floor ... one room over)
Is the main noise from hitting the impact screen -- or just hitting balls with a driver ? (I'll try it -- but I don't think hitting into a net will reduce the main noise -- driver/ball impact)
