Carpet tiles on walls; is the adhesive good enough or do I have to crown staple?

Attaching to plywood in this case. Does the adhesive hold up long term? Will it hold until I can get a crown stapler which might be a couple of weeks?

I bought the self-adhering ones and they have been up on the walls without issue for about 6 months. Granted this was applied onto painted drywall, but I would think they would adhere to ply as well.

I used self stick ones on osb and still needed extra adhesive to get them to stick permanently. I used 3m #90 spray adhesive and that worked well.
