Anyone have an opinion of using one of these?

So my buildout will be in 14x14 room (11' ceiling) however the wife insists that the actual enclosure/screen be a non permanent thing that I can take up/down quickly. So Instead of doing a frame enclosure with EMT tubing, I was thinking of using a photo backdrop frame, specifically one that assembles and disassembles easily.

If I then attach my impact to this frame (tarp clips) , does anyone have an opinion of this being sturdy enough to support it, and / or should I go a completely different route? I'd love to do a retractable screen, but don't want to spend +1k on that.

I suppose it could work provided it wouldn't get knocked over backward when it gets blasted with a driver shot. May need some sand bags or something to place on those legs to keep it in place. I dunno.

You will probably want some sort of roof and side walls though which might be your biggest issue with something like this.

Probably going to a swing rod on the top and bottom of the sides that allows a curtain, thick fabric, to be swung outwards 90 degrees on both sides when in use, and fold back in when not.
The roof, I haven't quite figured out yet.

Could it support the weight of the impact screen and any additional backing to minimize bounce? Would it bow in the middle?

A good solution based on my experiments over the past year:

Two hooks on each side in structure (as high as the screen needs to be), 1/8th inch steel cable, and a turnbuckle to tighten the slack has worked wonders for me. Tarp clips hang on the cable every 8 inches and hold the screen, white sheet backdrop, and moving blanket in their teeth. I'd estimate the whole screen weighs ~30 lbs but it is light and manageable enough for me to mount without assistance (other than a step stool).

Taking down the structure is easy - only takes as long as needed to rotate the turnbuckle to create slack, unhook, and pack away (aka dump in a dedicated trash can)!

I use two tent poles on either side of my screen (vertical sides) that allow me to draw tension nicely across the entirety of the screen when mounted for use (poles are connected to screen sides by tarp clips as well). The tent poles fold away on their inner bungee and fit in the can as well, keeping my entire screen together even when out of the way.

Then just move the trashcan as far away from your wife's eyes as possible!

interpathway have you got any pics of your set up? What’s the screen size? I’m thinking of using cable method too for a 16x9’ screen so interested in knowing how much sag occurs despite tightening the tension using the turnbuckle.

And to confirm you hang screen, backdrop and blankets all off the same cable? I’m at planning stages of room build (new structure) so just wondering if I need to strengthen any wall or ceiling structural element of I use high tension cable. Don’t want the weight of whole thing ripping off the walls where the hooks are attached to.
