I use a nylon tube full on sand in the bottom of my screen.

Just wanted to update this thread for completeness.
The gorilla glue fabric glue worked great to create a seam in the screen for the battle rope. However, the battle rope was too heavy and caused more bounce back than I would like. I removed the battle rope and now just have the seam at the bottom which dangles to the ground. The seam does create a nice clean look, so overall things works out.Comment

It ended up being too much tension for me with the battle ropes, which were probably a similar weight.Comment
