  • Acoustic Tiles for Ceiling of Sim Enclosure

Hi all, I have a Carl’s 10x8.5 enclosure. I have put some acoustic tiles on my ceiling outside the sim enclosure on the ceiling for protection, and thought about putting some inside the sim enclosure on the ceiling fabric of the enclosure. It’s just wrapped in a black plastic material. I have found that the Acoustic tiles will not stick with the double sided squares that came with them. Was thinking about trying 3M double sided tape as well. Has anybody done this with much success for sticking to the surface? The tiles would be there just to deaden the impact for wedge shots. Thanks

You could try Beau Clips, I would feel much better using those.

I have the same problem, I did find some 3M adhesive spray that I used (in addition to the 3M double sided tape, as mine wouldn't stick to the acoustic tiles) I am search of a better solution however. They look great and do absorb some sound but they really don't do much for impact absorption on flop shots. The search continues...I am thinking of using tractor cab insulation, its made for tractor sounds and vibration deading. I may just put it over top of the existing acoustic tiles, but not 100% convinced this is the best solution just yet....

Here's what I did, take this with a grain of salt, but first, i'm in my garage so far less "pretty" than most of yall's setups. I first screwed heavy duty cardboard to the ceiling to act as an easier way to get things to both stick up there and staple. I then put eva foam mats via 3m spray in the first 6 ft ( only needed like 3-4 ft but had the extra so I used it. Then I put the acoustic tiles on top of the eva foam with the same 3M spray. worked a charm and it won't be coming down any time soon.
