  • AllSports Microbay: The Good, The Bad, and the Great

Hey everyone, just wanted to share my experience and review of the Allsports Microbay. Like many of you here I did a lot of research on almost everything. Hitting mats, launch monitors, screens, enclosures, software, projectors, lighting, etc.

The look I wanted led me to the all sports microbay. I wanted to get a screen that would be large enough, and if I was standing close enough, I felt confident I wouldn’t miss the screen with a miss hit. I opted for the 9 x 12 screen.

    the good
-I love the looks of the enclosure. It doesn’t have the huge side walls/nets that shoot out in to your room. It can sit flush against your wall and only come out 2 feet. There’s plenty of room behind it to avoid it hitting the wall.
-easy to build. I bought 1” emt poles from Home Depot. They came in 10ft poles/$14ea. They were easy to cut with a handled tubing cuter. I put the whole frame together by myself in about 1.5 hours. I used bungee cords instead of the zip ties it came with.
-screen, I bought the premium screen. It seemed pretty thick and good quality. Not a bad choice.

    the bad:
-I found the screen to be maybe defective. I use brand new golf balls, and cleaned my golf irons before ever hitting. After about four uses, two practice sessions and two rounds, I noticed not only indents and the screen, but the screen was getting scraped/scuffed up. It didn’t look right do I posted pics to FB and people confirmed that wasn’t right. I called Allsports and after some back and forth they decided to send me a new screen.

    the Great
-they upgraded me to the elite screen. It is amazing. Well worth the upcharge in price. It’s a completely different material. Almost like a bedding/pad foam material. Hard to explain, but it’s great quality. No indents, smooth surface, fits tight, minimal bounce back, and low impact noise.

overall I absolutely recommend the Microbay and Allsports.
