Impact screen recommendations for 16' sportscreen

    Good Day folks

Going to take the plunge and purchase a 16' sportscreen for my garage. I have 11'4" ceilings and a side mount opener so height is not an issue. I'm thinking the best would be a custom dimension screen so that I could take full advantage of the unrolled height? Or is there a ready to order solution that most members have found to work well?

I'm undecided on which side of my lights to put the screen on, this is on the "safe" side of the lights but I'm really tempted to give myself a 3' longer space just because it would look cleaner.

I went with a 16 foot width of the raw impact screen material from here, cut to size for my room. I also cut the sportscreen tube to fit as well.

I don't have any comparisons of it vs other screens but I am doubling my simulator as a theatre and basically turning the entire 15x10 wall into a screen hehe. It seems to look ok. ~16 foot wide screen at 1080P is questionable though.

I am doing this route aryantes . I am wondering how did you cut the sport screen tube and did you cut the black mesh too? I am planning to cut the 16ft sportscreen to 14ft to match my carls premium screen that I am going to order for 16:9 ration. Thanks!

If i remember correctly, I cut the tube on one of the middle sections that attach together, not the motor end. You may need to drill a few new holes to attach the pieces together. I just used a Miter saw with a blade meant to cut aluminum and just sliced through it easily.

The black mesh is easy to cut (but not easy to cut perfectly straight, heh)

Thanks for the info. Do you like and recommend the direct from the mill screen and comparable to Carls Premium screen?

I don't have anything to compare so but the direct from the mill screen seems okay for me. There are other comparisons in the main thread I believe

The D2G site is a good resource for impact screens. They have a variety of sizes or will work with you to fit any custom dimensions. https://www.design2golf.com/installa...-installation/ The install team will help answer any specific questions.
