New Build Help & Advise

Hi all, new member here and recently got myself a Skytrak and looking to get ready for when it becomes a simulator.

In the past I have just practiced in the garden with an old range mat hitting into a net but looking now to upgrade.

I recently moved house and think of adding a conservatory and hoping to use the simulator in there as the eaves can be 3m + the roof so plenty for a driver.

The rough measurement are going to be 11ft w x 16ft l so should be ok but here is the tricky part......

I need to build an impact screen which I will be able to dismantle for when the Mrs wants her conservatory back.

My ideas so far have been to use 40mm plumbing tube as with all the accessories I'm sure I could attach sides and a roof.

Looked at archery netting for the back and then just normal material for the rest.

Settled on the truestrike mat and it breaks down.

What are your thoughts of my ideas so far and any advise would be appreciated

11 ft w is narrow. 16ft is short. at 11 ft you will not be hitting to the middle of the screen which for some is not a problem but for me it got in my head. at 16ft long you will definitely need a short throw projector. and you will be only 7 ft from the screen at address. Which again is not a problem if the golfer is not casting a shadow on the screen.

But the biggest problem is I don't care how good you think you are. Never play golf in a glass house? I have an enclosure around my screen and I don't care what you do there is the occasional mishit that gets were it is not supposed to. And if your talking portable/collapsible your problem goes up exponentially. I would lobby for a sim room.

11ft narrow ? Wider than the average range bay but I understand what you are saying about centre of the screen.

I didn't give to projector much thought to be honest as I haven't read up on then yet.

I've been looking at some 3m x 3m cage net which cold be an option and hang the archery netting at the back.

The sim side is the fun side with the Skytrak mainly as practice but I'm hoping I can't miss the side of a net.

I'm narrower than that and probably at about 16 feet or maybe a touch less. I don't use a short throw, i have my projector mounted up high on the back wall and don't have any shadow. You will hit off to the side and not the middle though. I don't have an issue with this. In fact, it's kind of nice because i have a square screen and can rotate it if any wear starts to develop.

Thanks wbond I didn't think it was gonna be a big issue I've looked and I can go a little wider but no chance of longer.
