How far off wall for curtains - side ensclosure

How far off the wall should I hang the curtains for my enclosure? I see a lot about the distance for the impact screen but not much for the sides. Thanks.

Sides aren’t a big concern, depending on the material it can be a couple inches. The ball ricocheting off a side wall will still move forward away from the golfer.

I hung a heavy commerial carpet an inch off the walls and it works fine. The answer depends on the material you're using and how right it stretched. I suggest that you do some testing. However, remember that it's hitting the side wall at an angle and the hopefully bouncing into the screen so ricocheting shouldn't be a big problem.
