  • Sport Screen Golf Studio

Anyone have any experience with this?: https://thesportscreen.com/golf/

Its not the same as the Stealth Elite. It is cheaper but has the manually retractable sides. What I like about it compared to other retractable solutions besides the Stealth Elite is that it solves for ceiling protection and corner protection (connecting of side protection to impact screen). I know i could build a Metech fully retractable solution for cheaper, but it doesn't solve for ceiling and corners. It also comes in the width im looking for which is a 10 foot width screen. It says "11" on the page but i think that is counting the installed width of the components, not the screen width.

Did you end up going with the sportscreen for your build? I am currently in the planning stages and looking at that or the Gungho retractable setup.

I have the Sport Screen Studio and am pretty happy. The manual crank doesn't matter to me. It doesn't add much time and just makes the whole set up more reliable. My installer had a little trouble getting one of the hand cranks aligned but it has worked out OK. Putting the velcro pads up and down sounds worse than it is. I can do it in 5 minutes in each direction but do need to keep a ladder nearby.

There is a fair amount of bounce back (from 7 feet with a right alignment) and I am trying some of the suggestions on this site to solve that. My next two are: (1) not using the side/corner velcro on the right side so the screen has more give and velcroing a mattress topper to the bottom of the screen. In my case, the mattress topper will work without cancelling out the convertable nature of the setup because I don't need to ratchet the screen all the way up to get my car in the garage. Having had a fixed set up before, go with the retractable if you really need a convertible space but a well thought out fixed set up is superior otherwise.
