    EMT Question

I’m building a enclosure out of EMT and fittings off tarps.com

Since the EMT fits into the fittings at different depths .5” versus 1” do you cut the EMT to the exact depth needed to attain the desired width or do you cut the EMT to the same length and just adjust the depth and not fully insert?

In other words if I’m building a 1x1 frame should EMT but cut the exact length or do I adjust for how deep the EMT can be inserted?

Does it matter if the EMT is inserted completely? Or does it just need to be past the screws? I would think it just needs to be past the screws.

Ive tried searching for this answer but I could not find it.

Was thinking my fittings have stops in them. I tried to cut EMT to fully insert to the stop. More inserted, the better.

      Insert it completely.

If you need to find out how deep it is, sharpie the conduit at the end of the coupling after insertion and measure that length.
