  • securing bottom of screen options

I have Cory's HD raw coming and I was wondering what the best option is for the bottom of the screen. Should I make a channel to run something through or are straps/grommets at the bottom corners enough? I was planning to make it flush to the ground.

I want as smooth of a screen surface as possible and least amount of deflection from the ball. I have archery netting directly behind the screen and it will have about 6inches extra on the ground.

Don't do anything with the bottom. Have drape an inch or two longer so it catches putts.

Agree I don't have anything for the bottom of the screen.

I have a few extra inches at the end of mine as well. It's good for putts, but doesn't look the cleanest... Especially when the bottom gets a little ruffled. Do you guys have it weighted with anything to keep it down flat?

Nothing on mine but it's only an inch long. Maybe yours is too long?

mthunt, I think you highlight a different problem I have. I placed the floor mat OVER the bottom crossbar of my cage pipe. I did this to prevent low shanks hitting the bar through the screen. I realize that this raises the floor by the end of the screen sort of, so it reacts like there is 3 inches too much when there is really only about an inch. I'm going to try laying the mat flat in front of the cage and see if that does the trick. I'll just have to figure out something for the bottom bar. Someone will hit it down there eventually!

I bound it an put grommets around my screen pulled it over the cage. Screen goes all the way to floor. I put pipe insulation on face of cage before I fasten screen. Then I have some putting grass between my hitting mat an screen. And right at the bottom of the screen I put some sand bags under the putting grass. Works good for any miss hits.

I have the par2pro screen as well, which has a small channel that runs along the bottom of the screen (approx 1" in diameter). I have a paracord (purchased on Amazon for less than $8) running through the channel and tying into the angle iron on one side and in through a cable tightener on the other side. It works pretty well, but still requires adjusting from time to time.
