Minimum distance from screen to wall

Hi all

What is the minimum distance between the wall and screen? I'll only be hitting 6 iron and less due to ceiling height restrictions.

I read on another post that you need between 1 and 1.5 feet but I was hoping to have less than that so I don't need to move my digital thermostat. I have a ProTee screen which will be fixed to the wall using angle iron with cable ties.

Would I get away with 8 inches or so given that I'll only be hitting 6 iron down?

With archery backing net, 8 inches is fine with a driver.
