I have heard good things about that archery netting and have seen a commercial sim place ive gone to using it, just wasnt sure if it gave enough extra benefits over the regular net that I have now to be worth buying, wish I bought it in the first place honestly. Probably will buy one next time around after I decide on my next screen and if it doesnt work out as I hope.

Our core business isn't selling stand alone fabric. We know our prices are high. The reason is that we had this fabric designed specifically for us. We didn't buy it off the shelf from a fabric distributor. We told our mill we need to get prices down and we are working on it.

Very interesting info there on how you got yours designed, thats encouraging to hear. But curious as to the denting on your screens. Ive only had the HQ and honestly really didnt see much denting until the the very last few weeks before it tore. Id hit a shot and then seconds later I wouldnt even be able to tell where the shot hit the screen. Whereas on the other hand I have seen some videos of peoples screens where they hit the shot into it and it kinda leaves that golf ball dent in it but seems to eventually dissipate after the next shot or whenever (tough to tell from just random montages of shots and not watching it through a whole round).

That last sentence just sparked an idea in my mind that all these companies selling screens should really try to put a video up of a whole round of people using their screen to show how it actually performs (or at least 9 holes or something), a random shot into the screen doesnt feel like enough to convince me on a material.

          Ironstrokes,

Below is a link to our videos page. The videos were shot on a screen that is over a year old. The sceen is in a showroom that gets a lot demo play and league play.

When I mentioned denting I was referring to permanent dents that will end up looking like a basketball hit it over a period of time. Our screens will show where the last ball hit the screen. This will go away after the next ball hits it. To be honest this is actually desired. If the screen is too rigid it will be loud with too much bounce back. There is a fine line in designing a screen that produces a projector screen like image, durable so it last, won't permanently dent, isn't loud and has little rebound. We did it and our screens are well worth the cost.
This is a great opportunity to see reviews and product descriptions in video form about golf simulator products.

I have th HQ screen from par2pro and while it looks great it is SO loud. I talked to them about possibly replacing with the "mesh screen" or netting in front of the screen to reduce the sound as I can't practice at night as kids are sleeping and you can hear it banging 2 floors up with th HQ. Any advice?

Ah just noticed this and watched the videos. Saw a few of the videos on your site before but these must have been a bit newer. The close up of the cross section of your screen showing all the horizontal fibers in between the two layers of the screen was exactly the type of thing I wanted to see from everyone's screen pictures/videos on their websites to show how it differentiates. It absolutely shows how yours could possibly separate from others that all look pretty much the same from head on. Thats impressive and ill be honest, I am very intrigued. I would love to get it and make up a nice, full review on it but just had to do some car repairs recently so that screen is way out of the level id want to spend right now sadly. You guys should definitely put a picture of that cross section I saw on the video next to the main front picture on the actually store part where you can buy it! Or at least update the video attached to that part of the store to show the video that shows the cross section. Kinda wish I could give this one a go now, but just not in the cards at this point. maybe one day down the line.

Sadly I was fighting that same battle for the year I had this screen before I busted a few holes in it. Luckily im in a detached garage, so its not that big of an issues, but is kind of annoying and wish it could have been quieter as well. Its a great screen, but that is definitely one of its negatives. Hopefully someone out there will can come up with a miracle cure for this one day.

bionicboogerboy - is there any chance of getting a sample of the fabric of the screen, any chance of like scrap material or remnant to check the quality? Also can you do raw material of the screen as my screen size is a bit odd from piecing it all together at different times. I have used the PR-20 from west coast netting for the past year, but word has spread with my golf buddies and they want to do a golf league this winter and I would like to upgrade my screen. I originally just got the PR-20 in 9ftx9ft just to hit some shots on a couple years ago, then added the side panels with velcro to increase the screen size, while still having it convenient to pull a car in if needed, but the solution isn't the best. Ironstrokes have you replaced your HQ screen yet? What did you go with? I love the PR-20 for it's bounce back and low sound since I have a wife and kids sleeping inside as well, but the image quality could be better.

I did replace it last week. I couldnt really make a good decision based of the videos and info I had on all the more expensive ones ($500+ ones). And since my HQ one only lasted me pretty much exactly a year with the pro v1x balls, I figured I might as well try the supertex one as it is half the price or more than everything else I looked at at only $150. I figured if I went through this one in less than a year then maybe Id try one of the more expensive ones, but if it makes it a year or more, then that not bad at all! The more expensive ones just werent worth it to me yet, mostly because I couldnt figure out what would be the best one at those high prices (I would have just been taking a guess), and didnt know the durability, loudness etc. compared to one another.

So far after a week or so of play on the supertex I am very impressed that they sewed the sleeves and little slits into it for you to attach the screen to your frame at no extra charge, so already it was much much easier to set up then the HQ. When I first put it up, I thought it may possibly be ever so slightly more see through then the HQ, but that may have been the light through the window playing tricks on me because once I darkened the room and turned the projector on, the picture quality look exactly the same to me. As for sound, it is still pretty loud when you hit it, but it is also the same amount of loudness that I had with the HQ.

So now all depends on the durability. I will see down the line if it is worth it or not. But at half the price at $150 bucks Im not gonna get pissed if it rips as I would have if I had taken a chance on a $500+ screen and it failed on me.

Awesome!! Thanks for the update. The material looks very similar to the PR-20 from West Coast Netting.. One thing that I did to help with the see-through aspect is putting a white sheet directly behind it. I think it helps but who knows. Appreciate the info though I think I'll probably go down the Supertex route as well when my buddies want to get our league going.

Good idea with the white sheet behind, Ill give that a go. And yea, cant go wrong with that price. Youll have to keep me updated on the durability you find with it as it sounds like youll have a lot more people hitting on it then I have.

The supertex material is nothing like the PR20. I have both, I started with PR20, it's a great impact screen, but the image is average. The supertex to me is almost like a fabric vs mesh of pr20. 1 comment

Yeah, I realized I was looking at the picture of the polyester mesh material on their website instead of the supertex material when I made that comment. Whoops! Is the supertex quite a bit louder than the PR20? The guys from the league want to play on friday nights and with the kids sleeping inside, just curious if it'll be to loud.

The supertex to me is a little bit louder, but I think the sound from the driver is definitely louder than either of the screens. I use the pr20 behind my supertex, so that may be muffling the sound vs just having the supertex by itself.

That is what I was planning on doing is using my pr20 behind the supertex. I was just curious if the supertex had a big boom sound effect since it's more like fabric instead of the mesh. As long as it's not a loud boom, which it sounds like it's not, I think I'm set. Appreciate the help.

Does anyone have the Poly version of the supertex to compare durability and image quality?
