  • Quietest projector screen

Anyone know what the Quietest projector screen is? I have the HQ one from par2pro. I care less about image quality and more about noise as I can't practice at home when my kids are asleep as the HQ screen is so loud. I've heard the mesh screens are better but before I buy a new one I wanted some input. Thanks....

No clue about that one. I do know a guy who hung his net in FRONT of the screen. It's a white net. He loses a little of the image quality, but it's not terrible. Definitely much more quiet. Good luck.

Maybe hang a loose net 2 feet in front of screen for when kids are sleeping. Then set it up so you can roll the net up and use impact screen during the day when kids are not sleeping. This gives you a quiet option at night but can still utilize the impact screen with better image quality when needed. Good luck!

As said above, hang a loose archery net in front for when you need it to be quiet. The image quality is ok, and sufficient to see what you need, but it is very quiet

Surely the 'crack' noise when your driver makes contact with the golf ball is far louder than the ball hitting the screen?
I've just set up a new HQ Par2Pro screen - but haven't hit any balls at it yet as the side drapes are still on order!!

Hmm interesting. Is that a product listed on their website? I can't seem to find anything like that. I have the screen with the velcro all down the sides and top, would be curious as to what they are offering and how much.

I've been in contact with Cory for a couple of months now speccing up all my simulator stuff. He said they have HQ drapes and regular drapes - but the HQ ones are much better and will last much longer. Not cheap ($1400 for 2.85m X 2m drapes), but hopefully they work well when I get them.
Just send an email and tell them what size you need. I'm sure Cory or Preston will sort you out

FYI, I have this exact set up as I ordered the entire thing from par2pro and the velcro attaching to the side and top of the screen looks great but its not super functional as the tension from the netting causes lateral and side tension on the screen and they tend to pull away over a few days so you need to be prepared to adjust it on a regular basis.

PR-20 from Westcoast netting is pretty quiet. But nothing will beat a net in front. I've tried everything.

I got my screen from sportssimulation in the uk. It's quiet, has some bleed through but my picture quality is still good.

PM me if you want the contact details

The people over at golfsimulatorguys stated that they have a very quiet screen. I have not heard any real life comparisons between it and the HQ2, I would be interested to see a youtube side by side. I have the HQ2 and it is a bit loud, but is OK when tensioned just right. I wouldn't be interested in putting netting in front of the screen, unless I absolutely had to.

I have a heavy net Behind my impact screen and I tried putting it IN FRONT but I think it may have been too close as it did nothing for the sound really. BTW its not the sound of the driver as I went to an indoor sim the other day with netting only and all you hear is a "clack" from the driver impact rather than the BOOM of the ball hitting the screen. I recently tried some high compression foam balls which greatly reduce sound but of course the spin rates are all wrong compared to regular balls..
