  • Need a projector and screen recommendation

Of all the research on this project, this one hurts my head the most. I'll just post a list of what I would like to do and hope for some recommendations.

    Thanks for looking!

A picture of the cage in question is attached. It is 10x10x17'. It will be covered with a large black waterproof canvas tarp soon.

    - Projector 12-14' from screen
    - Overhead
    - 4:3, but also want 16:9 capability (going to move it to different section of backyard for movie nights)

High and medium budget options would be appreciated

Going to go with a Supertex to start with and I see they have a few different sizes.

The cage is 10x10. Do people typically go with a full 120x120, or does the 108x108 or 120x108 work out better? They have three different styles also, seamless, hanging and sewn in straps. Which would work best? I'd like to avoid the PVC route, but if that works best, so be it.

super tex is a good option as replacement cost is not an issue it has good picture quality and is durable, I went seamless as i have a little different then standard application as my simulation room is quite bigger then most with a screen size of 168"X 120" I used a aluminum pipe for the head piece and used clamp straps with bungees for the sides and bottom to be wrinkle free for the best picture. I also have a ben q and a viewsonic projector that I have used for this. The lumen count is important and you can play with the view mode to get a 4:3 or a 16:9 aspect ratio I would also go after a 1080 P projector as quality image is crucial. TGC will hopefully go 4k but thats a whole different conversation about projectors and computers. let me know if you have any other questions.
