Repairing hole in par2pro HQ

I'm totally bummed that I got a hole in my screen. I was using brand new balls and did it with an 8 iron and I use a backing net.

Has anyone had success repairing a hole? If so what method that still looks good?

I had a couple of holes in mine that started small obviously and should have tried something right away because they got very large pretty quickly (so dont wait too long). I would suggest trying to sew an extra piece of the screen (maybe you can cut off a small piece from the corner if you have some extra overlying on the ground in front) where the hole is, curious if that would work, ill probably try that if I get a hole in my new screen. If you dont have any extra screen material, maybe some other thick cloth material would work.

I know I was pretty bummed too as it was pretty much exactly a year into its use that it happened for me, and kinda just gave up on it instead of trying to save it f I could. Ended up putting a cheap white sheet over the middle of the screen and it worked nicely as a place holder until I got another screen. Went with the supertex this time as its much cheaper and im honestly not noticing much of a difference in picture or quality the first few months using it, not a bad screen at all for the price. Plus at that price a hole in the screen wouldnt piss me off as much, especially if I can get over a year use out of it.

Hope someone else here has a tried and true fix that has worked, let us know if you figure out anything thats successful

I do have spare material and plan to try liquid stitch a patch on the back side.

I sent an email to supertex about a custom size. I liked my hq2 but it still cost me over 500 bucks for the raw plus a lot of time to sew.

And yea, I liked the hq as well and was surprised how close I felt the supertex was to it at 1/3rd the price. It's nice that it comes with sleeves sewed into it too at no extra cost and even little slits that you can slide extra bungee cords in if needed. I'm very satisfied so far. And at 150 bucks you can't go wrong with it

Do you know if the finished size of the supertex is the same as advertised or slightly larger? I actually need 146" to sew on velcro edging and the largest size they make is listed at 144". Also, is there a noticeable seam?

The seams aren't noticeable to me, haven't even thought to try to look for them while playing, so that's gotta be a good sign for that. Not sure if it runs a bit long, I ordered an 11' x 9' screen and it seemed to fit what I wanted nicely. I'll give a quick measurement of it when I get off work later tonight and let you know

Patching isn't going to work....even patching on the back side you can still see it. I plan to buy a Supertex and might just hang that in front of my current HQ2. I figure it should help the life and provide an even brighter image.

Par2Pro......are you reading this?? I sure hope I don't run into this problem with my HQ2 ! ! Looks like you might lose a lot of new customers. and have a bunch of disgruntled people who have these screens.

I just received samples of the Supertex and Supertex Poly. The Poly kinda reminds me of PR20. I plan to buy the supertex, and hang it in front of my HQ2 and current archery netting.

So does it seem like more of a mesh then? I have pr20 and went to supertex and there is a huge difference between those two. Now the pr20 is behind my supertex.

Yes...the Poly is a woven mesh...very much like PR-20, but maybe a tighter weave. I didn't have a sample to directly compare. The Supertex is whiter and stiffer, but similar in composition to the HQ2.

I ended up ordering a custom sized Supertex. Chip was great in his communications even though I changed my mind a few times. I plan to hang mine similar to my current screen. I ordered the "hanging version" and I will sew velcro loop around the top and sides to attach my trim covers and use tarp clips and bungies. I will review more compared to my HQ2 when it arrives.

I have a black PR20 behind my HQ2, works fine, Hopefully will not have a problem with holes, so far so good.

Hey Boo... sorry for the delayed response as I did not see this post until now. The HQ2 screens have lasted most customers over 100,000 shots and we have found that if they are mounted and used properly they do last a long time.
