I am just piecing my Sim together in my basement and I can't seem to find detailed information on the black out panels to be used. Everyone seems to have them but I would rather not shell out $400 for them so looking at alternatives to the professional ones. My dimensions are 10 x 8 x 5. Also, I have a 7ft high screen and it leaves room at the bottom. Any ideas on what to do or protect the golfer in that space? All ideas welcomed. Thanks!

I bought blackout cloth (quite heavy stuff, durable, can punch holes that will not tear in it for plastic ties) from a cloth supplier on the internet.
Five feet wide by any length, and it was low cost, just about $150 for twenty yards length. I joined two sections with carpet tape to make a ten foot wide piece.
I would not try to use the cloth in lieu of netting.

If you're looking for cheap blackout curtains in the UK, then try www.golftechsystems.com or www.golfswingsystems.co.uk.
I had a full screen and curtain setup from Golf Tech Systems for about £500.
I've recently changed to the Par2Pro HQ drapes which must've cost in excess of £1500 (including shipping and import duties), however the difference in quality is chalk and cheese. They are so thick and heavy that they barely move if you take a shot directly at them. They're also weighted at the bottom to help them hang properly.
worth the money? Difficult to say... but I can definitely see where the extra money went.

Thanks for the response guys... as I say, my problem is that my enclosure is outside, so rain plays a big part in what material I can go for. My last tarp fell apart after a repeated soaking and drying and also didn't block the light as much as I'd hoped. Looking for a heavy weight material that I can either stitch together or seam weld, held at a slight angle from front to back that the rain can drain off easily. Not an easy task lol

When landscape fabric was mentioned this is the type I thought of. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Yuzet-contr...ndscape+fabric

Waterproof polyester canvas tarp is what i use to cover my outdoor cage. No sun comes through it and it hasn't rained, but i dumped water on it and it rolls right off.
Find the highest-quality tarps for all of your needs at Canopies and Tarps. We use premium materials to offer tarps for sale that will last season after season.
My 30'x20' weights ~70 lbs. Very nice material.
