Just wondering..I've decided I'd rather have a cleaner look with no cage and a bigger screen to cover the entire wall but now I need to protect the ceiling and walls from damage. What have you guys used to do just that?

What does everyone use to cover ceiling and walls if no cage?

Hmmm, that's about where I'll be hitting from. Maybe more like 9.5-10 feet. I'm worried about the ceiling getting ruined by a wedge shot also. I think I saw your pics in the photo sticky? Looked awesomeOriginally posted by goodmatt78 View PostI hit from 8-9 feet and don't need anything....I also wanted the clean look. If I hit a lob wedge with an open face it will hit the screen first then just kiss the ceiling....no damage at all.

From 9 feet I've put holes in my ceiling with both sand and lob wedges. Don't forget mishits. And don't get me started about visitors! LOL
I mishit off the top edge of my driver and put a ball into the ceiling 5 feet in front of my screen! And I can't count the number of visitors that have hit the ceiling (and walls). I belatedly installed ceiling protection and wished I had done it from the start. Luckily I always had side wall protection.

Holy crap man lol....I'm definitely installing some protection prior to starting to play. My wife shanks balls right that you wouldn't believe unless you saw them haha...not so worried about my friends but I'm sure a lot of people will want to try it out that don't usually golf when they come over the house...more worried about my skytrak to be honest...

Just looked through that pic thread and yes, your room is the one that made me not want a cage. I'm building from scratch a 12w x 16 L outdoor room for just golf. You did a fantastic job on yours, it's by far the cleanest looking one I've seen.Originally posted by goodmatt78 View PostI hit from 8-9 feet and don't need anything....I also wanted the clean look. what size screen are you using? I'm guessing you have to go about a foot smaller than width size of room to account for bungees etc..?

That looks nice, has anyone whacked one into the walls ? And if so, what happened lolOriginally posted by BGCurtis2nd View PostI myself went with car-siding, I got a good price on it, it looks good and will take quit an impact and not show much. I plan to add black side curtains to stop direct impacts on back wall,I still got a lot to do to finish the room.

Mine are carpet tile directly on plywood. I'd never do it another way again.Originally posted by Jwheels9876 View PostJust wondering..I've decided I'd rather have a cleaner look with no cage and a bigger screen to cover the entire wall but now I need to protect the ceiling and walls from damage. That looks good, do you recall which ones those are? I saw the greenscapes green carpet tiles on the Home Depot website and they look pretty cool, almost like a Putting green surface.Originally posted by mthunt View Post

Just standard 2x2 high quality carpet tile from a carpet store. It was about $800 for them all. They are crown stapled. I was sceptical at first but it's perfect.Originally posted by Jwheels9876 View Post

The wall is 14ft wide and the trim piece is about 1ft wide on each side. I hung the screen, then optimized the projector placement and image size and then made the trim pieces accordingly to perfectly frame in the picture.
