  • Sim Room Build

Hi guys. I thought I would put up some pics of my build. Still not completely finished but I made some mistakes and changes along the way and really liked how it turned out and can give some ideas to those out there looking to do the same. I have a Sky Trak set up mainly due to the 13'x13' by 10' height and love it. CPU on the way for TGC but now playing WGT on iPad. I have Par2pro net and screen. They were awesome to deal with and the quality is top notch. My mom is handy with sewing so she helped out on much of the fabric and stencil. I went with overkill angle iron and used studs to get everything mounted at the same depth from the back wall (go figure all three walls had different stud depths). Ended out working great though because I could put finishing wood around it for the frame.

I first went with CCE (country club elite from Costco) but it was expensive and I didn't like the seem. So I opted for SynLawn Tee Strike and it's great. Bought 1/2" rubber interconnecting mats for the base and put the tee strike and long grass on top. I will liquid nails it at the corners once I'm finally fully committed.

I ended up liking the idea of a tee box so I surrounded it with 4x4s and it also keeps it all in place.

    Almost there!!

Any tips, suggestions, comments please let me know. This website was a HUGE resource and hope to keep the Golf simulation trend moving up!!! Thank you Forum and to all the members!

Thanks aeroburner. I was trying to find the 12 footer but no one carried it and the cost to ship and everything came to be pretty expensive. Found a great deal on a 6x12. I will try again if I need to replace it. (And I was dying to get this thing done)! I also had long grass and putting green left over from our yard landscape job.

The top and side curtains are attached with Velcro to the back edge of the frame to hide the bungees.

My awesome mom came up with a really cool logo and Masters replica. Thanks mom! She's a huge golfer and one of the main reasons I got so into it. Families that golf together stay together She also even put the flagstick where I live! Pretty cool.

I need to pull the whole thing tighter! Probably suffer from commitment bias but I really like the long grass next to the screen. It stops all the balls from rolling around once they hit, just a little bit annoying for putting but definitely manageable. If you have more room it would be ideal.

That's logo is awesome! Saw it in the original pictures and didn't realize the flag was in a different spot. Very well done by her. The font and everything is perfect on it. Great looking set up you got there as well. Liking the green banner. Used to seeing most everyone use the black boarder, with the green and the logo on it and all it almost looks like a framed picture of whatever you are displaying on the screen.
